Jessy is our Pomeranian / Lhasa Apso mix. It was about 2 1/2 years old when we first noticed a red sore on her lower abdomen. A few months before, she had been attacked by a German Shepherd.
Although there was no serious physical injury, we thought that maybe the sore was a result of the stress or a side-effect of the anti-inflammatory or antibiotic drugs the veterinary hospital gave her after the attack to prevent infection and pain in a small bite wound.
Well the one sore on her abdomen quickly turned into 3 and 4. Soon after her entire abdomen was bare with hair-loss from these. They were even moving up her neck from the abdomen. The Vets only wanted to give her antibiotics and cortisone (prednisone). By this time I had started reading about immune health and skin issues, and the diseases that resemble these symptoms. She had also tested negative for thyroid problems. I had read that cortisone damages the liver and can cause more health problems so I wanted to find a more natural alternative if I could.
I used every natural cream, ointment, and technique I could find to try to help her skin. Homeopathic meds and Chinese medicine from a holistic vet didn't work. Acupuncture didn't work! I even brewed calendula flowers to make natural compresses for her skin but nothing seemed to work. After almost a year, Jessy was becoming a depressed and listless dog. She had always been full of energy and happy but she was now spending most of the day in her bed. Her normally large appetite had disappeared and I had to feed her from my hand in her bed she lost weight and was looking skinny.
I started cooking her healthy meals in hopes that better nutrition could help, along with omega oils and vitamins. Still nothing seemed to work so in desperation, I continued to scour the internet for answers and I finally stumbled on the NZYMES.COM website and called them. They told me how the HEALTHY-SKIN program with the Antioxidant Treats, BacPak Plus, Ox-E Drops, and Tincture of Blackleaf had helped many other dogs and how it could possibly help Jessy.
I started Jessy on the Healthy-Skin program the same week and within 2 months her improvement was remarkable! The red, hairless abdomen was replaced by clear skin and fluffy white fur. Her crusty patches on the lower back had disappeared and also filled in with fur. Her zest for life had returned. Jessy is now 6 years old and she hasn't had a listless day since she was successful with the NZYMES® program.
It is obvious to us (and vets) that Jessy has some sensitivities to pollen and certain insects' venom. Once in while we will notice a tiny sore here or there and her toes get a little red in between occasionally, but there have been no major problems for years since NZYMES® have been part of her life.
To keep a handle on things, we give her an Antioxidant Treats everyday, and she always gets her Tincture of Blackleaf and BacPak Plus on her food (the food that NZYMES® folks recommended). And in her water she always gets a few Ox-E Drops. This maintenance helps to keep Jessy's immune system working well and her health stable. When we see that a sore is starting or that she seems to be having itchy paws, we increase her NZYMES® as per the instructions. I tell anyone who will listen about NZYMES®! It has made all the difference in our little dog's life and in our lives too!
Thanks so much!
