Breed: Australian cattle dog (Australian blue heeler)
Age: 15 yrs
Health History: Thyroid health, Hot spots, blackened skin, odor, black mucous like secretion from pores, weight loss, lethargy, hair loss, flaky skin

August 4, 2010

Mariah, our Australian Cattle Dog, has always been a healthy dog but starting 2 years ago, she began to have issues with her skin and coat. She developed hot spots and was given antibiotics and steroids. The spots would clear up but would always come back shortly after. We did not want to give her steroids but we did give her numerous rounds of antibiotics.

When the problem worsened, we took her to a holistic vet. We gave Mariah all natural supplements and changed her diet.  Again, all of that helped but only temporarily. During this time also, Mariah was diagnosed with a Hypothyroidism and possible pre-cushings disease

Last summer was Mariah's worst yet. She lost 80% percent of her coat and her skin blackened and she had a terrible odor (See before picture above). She needed to be bathed every other day because her skin oozed  black mucous from her pores. In between all of this, her skin was also so flaky with dandruff, it looked like there was black pepper all over her beds and blankets.

Our third vet, mentioned to us that her odor smelled "yeasty" and mentioned your NZYMES® products. We purchased a small Healthy-Skin Kit and started Mariah on the program on July 31,2009. During the program, any time I had questions, your customer service could not have been more patient and helpful! I was a long process and during that time we did not see much improvement but we were told to be patient because of Mariah's age and low-thyroid condition would slow the recovery.

Right at the 6 month mark (January) we started to see a dramatic improvement! Mariah was not scratching or licking her legs as much. Her skin was becoming smooth again and we could see new hair growing! Mariah's energy increased and she actually had a happy look on her face. During this time, Mariah lost weight even though her appetite was still good. But, now her weight has come back and she looks great!! During the month of February, she really made a HUGE IMPROVEMENT. Mariah's coat is growing daily!! Her energy level is UP and she plays with her two little Sheltie brothers (Dega age 2 and Ronin age 1) and her favorite plush ball toys!!

Mariah enjoys her walks again and being in her yard barking surveying the neighborhood. Everyone who knows Mariah and her struggles are amazed at the way she looks. Pat and I are forever grateful that we found your product. I work for a vet and find myself telling everyone about your products. Mariah continues to improve and we will keep you updated. Thank you a million times over!!!!!!!!!!!

NZYMES® SUGGESTS...

A Correctly Done Thyroid Panel Must Be Done
A significant number of the cases we work with, when re-tested, actually "Test Positive" for low thyroid but were evaluated incorrectly. Many Vets simply look to the T4 result in general blood work to make the Thyroid evaluation. Often this a faulty result, especially if the test did not screen for drugs the pet may have been taking. A proper test includes all parts of an defective thyroid.

Dr. Jean Dodds - HemopetTherefore we feel that it is important to get a COMPLETE AND CORRECT THYROID PANEL done by the leading expert in the field. Dr. Jean Dodds of Hemopet, CA.

Pets with low thyroid conditions require regular medication to help regulate thyroid function. Without the meds pets go through cycles of good and bad.

Most people are not likely to opt for this testing without justification. However, that justification comes when it becomes obvious a pet is not responding to the program in early months. At NZYMES.COM our major focus is helping our customers achieve RESULTS! We suggest good nutrition programs along with accurate information. The goal is to use nutritional support in ways that will help the body repair and restore wellness naturally, and then continue that wellness with a minimum maintenance program.
