Within each of us, and dogs and cats too, a neurological mechanism exists, called the “Vestibular Apparatus”. This mechanism is responsible for helping us to orient ourselves in the world in which we live. Literally, it helps us know ‘which way is up'. There are two sets of receptors in the inner ear. One set helps us determine UP and DOWN, the other set helps us to determine SIDE to SIDE motion. These receptors connect to the hypothalamus, an area of the brain that helps us determine our positioning. This internal mechanism sends signals to the muscles in our neck, legs and eyes so that we may constantly make minute adjustments to right ourselves in our surroundings.
Vestibular Syndrome occurs when there is a disorder with this mechanism. Symptoms include:
- Lack of coordination
- Tilting of the head
- Rotational eye movement
- Falling to one side
- General loss of balance
Most instances of Vestibular Syndrome are Idiopathic, meaning there is no certainty of its origin. It comes on abruptly, and leaves abruptly. The problem can stem from either end of the receptors mentioned above. It has been noted that pets with a history of ear infections, or with a current ear infection, are a likely cause of symptoms. Thankfully, the condition seems to correct itself in a short time. Pets often show improvement within 3 days and are usually back to normal in 1-2 weeks. If symptoms persist, it is best to have your pet evaluated by a Veterinarian.
Natural Support for Vestibular Syndrome
As with any health issue, it is best to be proactive to keep your pet strong and healthy. While there are no guarantees against the development of ear infections, providing the key nutrients found in Nzymes 3-Pak can provide the body with additional resistance to troublesome organisms, such as Candida Yeast.
The items of the 3-Pak are best summarized by these (3) categories:
Antioxidant Nutrition ~ Better pH balance ~ Digestive tract support.
(1) NZYMES® Antioxidant Treats OR Granules – to Provide Antioxidant Nutrition
Our Antioxidant products start with the NZYMES Granules. They are derived from a propriety blend of Soy sprouts, which are then freeze-dried and granulated to form the product. The sprouts carry the “life force” of the plant and therefore provide a “live food” resource to the diet. This “live food” resource greatly aids in the body's natural production of metabolic(antioxidant) enzymes, which are instrumental in undoing damage caused by stress, healing/repair issues, and in detoxifying the body.
The NZYMES Antioxidant Treats are made from the Granules, but have additional, supportive ingredients. They also include a stabilized Rice Bran known as Rice X, Vitamins A, C, and E, and a trace mineral Selenium. All of these ingredients play a supporting role to the antioxidant function of the Granules. We also add de-fatted beef liver to make them tasty treats.
(2) NZYMES® Ox-E-Drops – to Provide a Better pH Balance
NZYMES Ox-E-Drops is a safe and stable compound which offers many internal and topical uses. Because of its high alkalinity, it tends to slightly elevate the pH in throughout the GI tract, creating an unwelcome environment for unwanted bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Ingested, Ox-E-Drops releases precursors which assist the body in the removal of dangerous free radicals and increases the efficiency of enzymes involved in oxidation of foreign material in the body such as viruses. (3) NZYMES® Bac~Pak Plus – to Provide Digestive Tract Support
NZYMES Bac~Pak Plus Fortified uses a powerful blend of Micro-encapsulated live, viable naturally occurring microorganisms and digestive enzymes. The Micro-encapsulation process provides key protection against heating and stomach acid to insure that the majority of the viable bacteria reach the GI tract. This blend promotes proper digestion and improved assimilation of foods. Bac~Pak Plus was created for nutritional supplemental use with animals of all ages and designed to help optimize the health of a pet¹s digestive tract and immune system.
