1. “Why doesn’t my vet know about this?”
Some veterinarians do. There are several vets that recommend the Nzymes Healthy Skin Program to their patients. But for the most part, however, vets are not orientated toward ‘natural’ or nutritional-oriented means to address health problems. Their training in “medicine” is basically focused around medical answers to problems, whether that be for surgery, medical procedures or (in the less invasive realm) pharmaceutical prescriptions. There is certainly a place for these approaches, but not necessarily to the exclusion of other approaches or options. The problem of yeast overgrowth is caused by an imbalance of the natural condition of the GI tract. The typical vet approach is more geared toward treating outward symptoms, then in approaching inward causes. The use of antibiotics and steroids for these cases is very common. While usually providing immediate relief for surface symptoms, these medications tend to make the underlying condition worse,  via the unwanted depletion of even more of the beneficial bacteria, so that each round is worse than before. It can become a vicious cycle. ? Top

2. “How long does the healthy skin kit last?”
Different items in the kit will last for differing lengths of time, depending on the size of the dog.
Example: Here is how long a large skin kit would last for a 70-pound dog:
• 2 lb Granules: 5-6 months
• Bac~Pak Plus: 1 year
• Ox-E-Drops: 2-3 months
• Black Leaf: 2-3 months
All Nzymes products are also sold separately so that you can replace the items as you need them. ? Top

3. “How long will it take to see results?”
Each case is unique. The initial detoxification (or cleansing period) generally takes 2-3 months. After the first detoxification period, you can expect to see this condition progressively improve over the next 2-4 months as the natural flora in the digestive tract is re-established. It is recommended to continue using the products (up to one year) to maintain this healthy flora as it grows stronger. Please note that each case is different and healing time may be shorter or longer depending on multiple factors like medications, thyroid condition, medical history, severity of infection, etc. ? 4. “Why does it take so long?”
Quite simply, your pet did not develop this overnight. It takes months or years to develop in most cases. Likewise, it can take many months to reverse the trend and re-establish a healthy GI tract.? Top

5. “What should I expect to happen when they go through the cleanse?”
The Nzymes Healthy Skin Program is a detoxification program. As the yeast dies off, it will be carried to the extremities to be flushed out. Since you are ACTIVELY killing yeast cells with this process, you will be accelerating the rate at which they are exiting through your dog’s skin, etc. This is why we tell you to prepare for your dog to look worse before he looks better.? 6. “How long will my dog need to be on this program?”
It is very important that you keep your dog on this program for at least one full year. Even though many will see the symptoms subside within a few months, continuing to use the products as instructed will help push the body through the cleansing phases and re-balance the gastrointestinal tract.? Top

7. “Do I have to change the dog food?”
Yes. Many dog foods contain a high amount of carbohydrates, with a high glycemic index. The higher the glycemic index, the more quickly those carbohydrates convert to sugar, and sugar FEEDS the yeast. You do not want to feed the problem while you are trying to fight it off. Choosing from one of our recommended foods will insure that you do not impede your progress.? Top

8. “Can the yeast kill my dog?”
We’ve never seen a case in which yeast overgrowth has killed a dog. That being said, we have seen many cases in which too many steroids or other medications have lead to fatal illnesses. There are also cases in which dog owners choose to euthanize their dogs simply because they were unaware that this problem can be resolved nutritionally.? Top

9. “Do I have to give each product separately?”
No, they can be given all together.? Top

10. “Does it have any taste? or Do they like it?”
With dogs, everything has a taste – but for the most part, it is pretty bland. If there is objection by your dog, mix with wet food or plain yogurt.? Top

11. “Why do I have to use all these products?”
Each item in the kit is doing a specific job to get your dog through the process of detoxification and to help restore the natural GI balance. All of these products work in the dog’s body separately, yet together, to help resolve the skin problems from the inside out.? Top

12. “If I change the food and give the antioxidant treats/granules will that be enough?”
To get the best and quickest results we recommend using the entire Healthy Skin Kit. The antioxidants are a very important part of the detoxification process but will not resolve the problem alone. If you have only purchased this one item, please look through the steps above and consider adding in the other products from the kit.? Top

13. “How do I get my dog to eat this?”
We recommend adding these items to the dog food. Most of the time these can be added to kibble dog food with no problem. For more finicky dogs, add to wet dog food (from the recommended list above) or plain white yogurt and give separately.? Top

14. “Can I give my dog treats?”
Yes. But be very careful with which treats you use during this process. In step 5 above we have a list of recommended dog treats that can be used with this program. Many dog owners will simply cook chicken or other meat (plain – no seasonings) and use this to treat their dog instead.? Top

15. “Can I give my dog table scraps?”
We don’t recommend table scraps for dogs.? Top

16. “Why does my dog sometimes have mucus in his stools?”
This is rare but sometimes happens when a dog is cleansing his body. This gelatinous mass consists of dead yeast cells being passed in the stools. Sometimes it is accompanied by a few drops of blood. Do not be overly concerned as pets rebound from this in a few days.? Top

17. “Do I have to give this with meals?”
We recommend giving the products with the daily meals – as it helps the body to use the nutrients in the food better.? Top

18. “I can’t get the whole kit. What can I start with first?”
If you cannot purchase the full kit yet, we recommend using the Nzymes Granules and the Nzymes Ox-E-Drops to start with. These two products can lay the groundwork for the program until you can add the others in.? Top

19. “Do you know why my dog feels warm?”
As yeast dies off, the dying toxins make their way out to the surface to be filtered out by the skin. The skin cells become inflamed, often leading to hot skin. Later the area will cool. This constant expansion and contraction of the skin cells usually lead to exfoliation of dander, flaking, etc. You can use a cold compress to help the inflammation more quickly.? Top

20. “My dog started looking better and then started itching again. What should I do?”
Yeast is a tough customer and doesn’t give up easily. It is not unusual for a dog to experience a reversal several months after improving. This is one reason it is SO CRITICAL to
remain vigilant after your dog’s major symptoms have cleared. If your dog’s condition should degrade, we recommend going back to the initial dosing (doubling the Granules and the Black Leaf Tincture) and frequent bathing. This generally helps to get things under control in a few weeks.? Top

21. “Can these products be taken with other medications?”
The Nzymes products will not cause adverse reactions with other medications, however, those who are able to refrain from using medications during the detoxification process will achieve the best results with the dog skin problems.? Top

22. “Why did my dog get diarrhea after starting the healthy skin program?”
Digestive upset is rare but can happen. This is a detox program and sometimes it will cause flu-like symptoms during the cleanse. If your dog has diarrhea on this program, it is usually short lived not lasting more than 2-3 days. It is important that the dog stay hydrated.? Top
