Pekingese With Back Problems & Rear-leg Lameness
My Pekingese, Maggie, is 5 years old. Within 2 months time, she began having trouble with weakness in her back end. My previous Pekingese, Gizmo, had had the same trouble. After taking Maggie to the vet and her going through an IV steroid shot, and taking prednisone tablets every other day, I was not yet ready to give up. The vet said there wasn’t much else he would recommend, just give her prednisone.
She was no longer able to go up and down stairs on her own and had lost her spunk and playfulness. About all she wanted to do was hide in the bedroom under our nightstand most of the day. When I took her outside, she was even hesitant to walk around.
I was on the internet one afternoon and just for the heck of it, I typed in “back problems in dogs” and came up with the NZYMES.COM website. The stories sounded great, but I was skeptical. I ordered the Antioxidant Treats and when they came a few days later, I offered her one. I was amazed that she even ate it, since she is a little picky about her treats.
At the same time, I switched her dog food to one that was on the NZYMES.COM list of recommended foods. Her improvement wasn’t overnight, but within 1 week she was a lot more active and I cut her prednisone to every third day with no relapse. In 2 weeks she was going down steps on her own and she acted more like the girl I had been missing! We are in our 3rd week and she is improving still. I am a firm believer in the benefit of the NZYMES® Antioxidant Treats and have even been giving them to our 18 1/2-year-old Shih Tzu. If they didn’t work, Maggie would not have gotten better and would have ended up paralyzed like my Gizmo was. We had nothing to lose and everything to gain. I am a believer, and I tell all my pet owning friends.
I am confident that with continued use, Maggie will regain her full mobility. I see little improvements daily and am relieved and excited for her!
Thank you, Nzymes!
