Jake’s Troubles:  Likely Arthritis, Maybe Hip Dysplasia, ACL Injury/Recovery

April 6, 2012
Out of nowhere, Jake our Lab, showed up at my door when he was about 6 months old and weighed 60 lbs.  When no one claimed him, I didn’t know what to do because I already had 3 dogs; 2 large females and a 50 lb male (Muttley). In the time that I started to search for a home for him, my two females died of old age so I kept him.

Labrador dog, Jake, with Arthritis

When Jake walked, he had quite a “swish” so I tried to get pet health protection (insurance) for the hip dysplasia surgery that I expected to be coming down the pike. Well, there is no such coverage! I fed him a good food for large breeds but later he still tore his ACL and required surgery to repair it. After the surgery, he did OK but I know his hind legs hurt. He has been on Tramadol and Rimadyl for about 3 years now. About 3 weeks ago, he started to hobble severely so I took him to my vet and they X-rayed him. They seemed to think he had fairly severe arthritis.

Two days after the visit to my vet he went lame. His back legs would not work; he had to hop like a rabbit to get outside to go to the bathroom. It literally looked like his hind legs were in a gunny sack and he just hopped. My Mother told me that I needed to face the inevitable and I told her that I was not ready to throw in the towel.

Then I got online and started searching. I had made up my mind that I would get him a stroller if nothing else; he was simply too young and had too much life in him to put him down! I found NZYMES.COM. I searched under Ailments and clicked on the story about the Dog named Lilly (temp paralysis).  As afraid of the story as I was, I could not believe my eyes!I ordered the Nzymes® Sprouted Granules on March 18, 2012, and they came a couple of days  later.

I immediately gave my pack one of the complimentary antioxidant treats that you were so kind to include with my first order. I opened up the Sprouted Granules and the journey began. I had HIGH hopes but I knew that I had to temper my excitement because you explained that it takes time.

Well, I’m here to tell you, after 3 days, 3 days, Jake stood up. He just stood up. The next day he walked outside one paw in front of the other. He now runs, even though he’s not supposed to. He sleeps in my bed with my other four dogs and in the morning, he rolls over on his back and barks and rolls back and forth and just lets out these sounds of excitement!  I start to cry, “I can’t even believe this is the same dog”!

My vet had told me to keep him quiet, continue with his medications and that he was a perfect candidate for a hip replacement. They had previously told me that he had some of the worst hip dysplasia they had ever seen. Two of my dogs had heartworm when I adopted them; Muttley has a bronchial/heart ailment and Jake has his issues. My truly healthy dog is Arlo, a Cairn terrier.

I feed the entire pack the Nzymes® Sprouted Granules every day. I told my vet about your products and I believe they are going to carry them. My vet is Reno Animal Clinic in Midwest City, Oklahoma in case you hear from them. I am going to write to some of the rescues that specifically handle disabled dogs/cats and tell them about your product and my dog’s experience.

I can’t wait to see what is in store for me! Thank you.
