Wounds in Dogs from a Variety of Causes

Bites or Wounds in dogs can happen at any time. Whether by accident, or animals becoming aggressive or even defensive. Resulting wounds or injury can be worrisome or threatening, and you certainly want to do what you can to help an injured dog recover expediently, including the ‘best outcome’.

There may also be occasions where wounds or incisions exist as a result of surgery. Whatever the cause, at NZYMES we feel it is quite important to always nutritionally support or promote the body’s recovery and repair efforts. Providing key nutrients can strengthen the body and help shorten recovery time.

Potential Damage to Micro-biome

ALSO, whenever there has been a break in the skin or penetrating wound, very often antibiotics may be prescribed in order to prevent infection from setting in, which can wreak havoc on gut Flora balance. In this event, it is very important to protect your pet – by supplementing the body with direct-fed microbial’s (Probiotics).

This type of supplement is important in order to help offset likely destruction of the very delicate Micro-Flora of the intestinal tract. Failure to support the gut often leads to a breakdown of the flora resulting in Yeast Overgrowth and Leaky Gut Syndrome – major causes of ‘skin and itching’ symptoms. So, a failure to be proactive in this area may result in very difficult to resolve skin, ear, and itching problems for the animal.
